Welcome to Hi-za Yoo Korean Dance Institute.

Learn Korean Music and Dance from expert teacher Hi-Za Yoo.

Dancing and singing are an essential part of Korean culture believed to allow an individual to reach a state of heightened emotion and spirited pleasure (otherwise known as heung). In 1962, legislation was passed by the Korean Government to encourage the conservation of folk traditions. Ancient music and dance are divided into court and folk genres, where performances range in amateur (or local) styles and professional (or urban) forms.

1953-1972 Since I was 4 years old in Korea, studied Korean traditional dances with Mrs. Baeck Bong Kim and Mrs. Soon Sung Kim who are nationally renowned Korean dance instructors and with human cultural treasures such as Mrs. Sun Young Kang and Mr. Mae Bang Lee.
